In the shadow of the Atonnism

Akhenaton's unique religion had left an outstanding impact on Egypt, regardless to hardness that the Atonnism had faced, as the oneness of Aton was not a tolerated concept for ancient Egyptians. The monotheism of Akhenaton was a true religious shock that caused a social and an economical disorder and due to the closure of most of major temple for Amun-Ra at Thebes which had a lot of effect on Egyptian stability of economy. The theme of the Atonnism had never allowed any rivalry to the one god concept and prevented establishing any other cults, temple, statues and any carvings which caused many of the workmen and the farmers who served in temples of gods to lose their jobs, that included temples architects and the layer of the Egyptian society who suffered it in a severe way. While being Akhenaton's policy tremendous in attracting the mass and the crowds to his new religion with his kindness ,simplicity and generosity as he used to spread the gold and presents out of his carriage that was not enough to allow his theme to prevail. The conspiracies and the plots which were hatched continuously against king Akhenaton was a good cause for him to abandon Thebes and to create his own Utopia.

Out of his many scattered ruins I would like to through the light on some of his ruins that been found at Luxor temple and still left there was no attention paid by most of visitors. The pictures show a damaged block of sandstone was most probably a part of a chapel Akhenaton had built and was later destroyed. It shows Akhenaton presenting his gold to his followers while crossing a rill on a boat also you can see all the Amarnian style which belongs to his new capital at Tell El Amarna.
