Ancient
Egypt
greatest invention was the Papyrus paper which was produced from the Papyrus
plant and had been proven to be the best writing material ever . “ Pa-Per-Ao”
was one of the many names that the papyrus was named with and it means the
Pharaoh’s belonging .Also “ Pa-Per-Ao”
is the source for the word “Paper” which is still in use! The Papyrus was
mainly used for saving the scientific knowledge and the Chronology for
prolonging ages and that would include the religious books such as of the
Im-Duwat or book of the Dead. The use of papyrus in ancient Egypt
synchronized with the invention of the Hieroglyphics which was earlier than
3200 B.C and was most probably a northern invention. The pre -historic northern
Egyptian cultures were unique of their sophisticated finds and belongings such
of their gold plated wooden statues and their food tools such as slate or ivory
spoons ,forks, and knives. In spite of the rareness of the northern cultures
remains but the few of it can refer to a much more advanced cultures than it’s
co-existing southern ones. The choice that was taken by those northern cultures
for the papyrus to become a native emblem was not just based on being it
indigenous to North of Egypt or lower Egypt but it was for the value of the
papyrus papers which helped the late pre historic cultures to keep constantly
advanced. Once to look at the early pre-historic northern culture finds of
tombs you get stunned of seeing such amount of pure gold that had been used in
plating their statues as well as the elegantly slate-made spoons which go back
to 4000 B.C duration but because of not using the papyrus papers, it caused the
loss of their gained knowledge and mainly of their unique goldsmiths and for
the gold smelting which resulted a
severe backwardness that led those culture once again to the flint stone use.
We may reveal more secrets about the papyrus once to uncover and excavate more
in the land of papyrus “the north of Egypt”. The unification between the
northern kingdom and the southern kingdom once it was established by king Mene”
Mena” helped in introducing the papyrus
in the whole newly united kingdom. The papyrus had protected the ancient
writing and inscriptions which augmented the Egyptian civilization longevity
and unity. Painted and Written by Yasser

Egypt and the search for Imhotep!
Egypt and the search for Imhotep!
Egypt in the past was a lot more fortunate than its neighboring cultures and the luckiest ever to have its renaissance to start 4000 years before Italy and France, a Long time before Michael Angelo and L eonardo Da Vinci to be born! Imhotep our renaissance-man was there. Imhotep was the man of many skills as he was a mathematician, an architect, an Artist, a sculptor, Astronomer a Physician and the minister of Egypt during the third dynasty.
Imhotep greatest achievements was the shifting from the use of wood and mud in construction to the use of stone which required from Imhotep creating the first outstanding architecture based on using wooden reinforcement once to deal with right-angle or oblique structures. Imhotep best evidence on his invention and mastering to the Geometry of triangles is the building of the step pyramid. The same science which was used by the Pyramids of Giza royal architects then was discovered written on the Rhind Mathematical papyrus by the ancient Egyptian Mathematicians from almost 4000 yeas ago and long time before Pythagoras and the Pythagorean theorem to be taught. Now Egypt awaits the rise of Imhotep for a new Renaissance! Written by Yasser Kamel for Museumegypt.2006.
